ALG Defense AK High Energy Main Spring – AK-47/AK-74 Series

The ALG Defense AK High Energy Main Spring replaces the factory hammer spring in AK-pattern rifles to deliver a harder primer strike and more reliable ignition. Designed for shooters experiencing light primer strikes with surplus or hard-primer ammunition, this upgraded spring increases hammer energy without requiring modification to the trigger group. It's a practical solution for improving reliability with military surplus ammo or when using aftermarket triggers that may reduce hammer momentum.

Manufactured from heat-treated spring steel, this main spring is a direct drop-in replacement requiring no gunsmithing. Installation involves standard AK trigger group disassembly. The increased spring rate will add approximately 1–1.5 lbs to trigger pull weight, a trade-off for enhanced ignition reliability. Compatible with stamped and milled receiver AKs including AK-47, AK-74, and AKM variants.
