The Ballistic Advantage 16" SPR profile barrel in .223 Wylde delivers match-grade accuracy with the versatility to reliably fire both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition. The .223 Wylde chamber specification provides tighter tolerances than a standard 5.56 chamber for improved accuracy with .223 ammunition, while maintaining full compatibility with 5.56 NATO loads. The mid-length gas system reduces felt recoil and cyclic rate compared to carbine-length systems, improving control and extending component life.

This barrel features a Special Purpose Rifle (SPR) profile—a government contour forward with a fluted section under the handguard for weight reduction without sacrificing rigidity. Manufactured from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel with a QPQ (Quench-Polish-Quench) nitride finish, it offers superior corrosion and wear resistance compared to traditional chrome lining. The barrel is chambered with an 11-degree target crown and 1:8 twist rate, optimized for stabilizing 55-77 grain projectiles. Includes a pre-installed M4 feed ramp extension and is compatible with standard AR-15 upper receivers.
