Federal HammerDown 45 Long Colt is purpose-built for lever-action rifles, delivering controlled expansion and deep penetration on medium game. The 250-grain bonded hollow point bullet is engineered to perform at velocities typical of rifle-length barrels, with a jacket molecularly fused to the lead core to prevent separation on heavy bone. The bonding process ensures 95%+ weight retention even through tough barriers, making this an excellent choice for deer and hog hunting with traditional lever guns.

Loaded in nickel-plated brass cases with clean-burning powder for reliable cycling in tubular magazines. This ammunition is optimized for 16–24" barrels common to lever-action rifles like the Henry Big Boy, Marlin 1894, and Winchester 1892. Each box contains 20 rounds; 200 rounds per case. Not recommended for short-barreled revolvers due to increased muzzle blast and velocity.
