Federal Hydra-Shok has been a proven defensive load since its introduction in 1988. The 230-grain jacketed hollow point features a center post design that promotes consistent expansion and deep penetration through heavy clothing and intermediate barriers. This 45 ACP load delivers reliable performance in full-size 1911s, service pistols, and carbines chambered for the cartridge.

Each round is loaded in nickel-plated brass cases with Federal's standard primers. Muzzle velocity is approximately 900 fps from a 5-inch barrel. Available in 20-round boxes or 500-round cases for range work and stockpiling.
