The YHM Nielsen Piston provides reliable Nielsen device (booster) function for .45 caliber pistol suppressors using the industry-standard .578-28 thread pitch. This piston allows the suppressor to decouple momentarily during the firing cycle, enabling proper cycling of tilting-barrel semi-automatic pistols. Without a functioning Nielsen device, many browning-style pistols will short-stroke or fail to cycle when suppressed.

This piston is machined from heat-treated steel with a durable finish to withstand the rigors of suppressed pistol use. It threads directly onto compatible YHM and other Nielsen-compatible suppressors and interfaces with host pistol barrels threaded .578-28. Installation is straightforward: remove the existing piston or fixed mount from the suppressor, thread this piston into the suppressor mount, and attach to the host barrel.
